BLOG: SEE THIS NEW ADDITION TO MY SITE!

Today you are one step closer to the realization of the hope you have for your child, adolescent or spouse. Counseling will provide you, your spouse/family with the tools of empowerment and facilitate the positive growth and well-being for all those involved in therapy.

As a solution-focused therapist, my goal is to help you uncover your children's and your family's true potential and to help you lead a life that is worth celebrating. Although difficult situations from the past may continue to cause distress, we work together to understand and resolve the challenges. By applying complementary therapeutic approaches and techniques, your child/spouse/family will unearth long-standing behavior patterns or negative perceptions that may be holding the child/family/spouse back from experiencing a more fulfilling and meaningful life.

In couples therapy, I work to open the space for a new experience in which the future is not born of the past. The thwarted need for connection with each other, stemming from distrust and a lack of safety are examined. There is a reworking of losses and a reclaiming of the connection via insight therapy and CBT methodology..

If you, your children or your family are looking for extra support and guidance through a challenging situation or ready to move in a new direction in your life, I look forward to working with you to achieve your goals.

Highly skilled child therapist

Rebecca Kane has been my 12-year-old son's therapist for the past year and a half, working to improve his self-esteem, negotiate bullying at school, and navigate a protracted divorce and challenging home life which is divided between his parents' homes. She has also worked with my son, who has ADHD, to help develop his attention in conversations and when working on projects, concurrently helping him to build his frustration tolerance and coping skills. Ms. Kane employs various approaches, including art therapy as means of expression and emotional self-awareness, and cognitive behavioral therapy. Finally, she has worked with our family in various dyads to facilitate greater understanding within our family of each others' perspectives, intentions, and awareness of how our behaviors are perceived by one another. She has brought tremendous patience, compassion, and insight in working with my son and I highly recommend her to others seeking therapy for their children, adolescents, and families.

Highly professional and caring. highly recommend!

Rebecca has been working with my little girl since my separation and eventual divorce, just to help her process and identify any warning signs in her emotional development. She was 4 y/o when she started seeing her, and is now over 6y/o and desires to continue to see Rebecca because of the loving environment and level of trust she has built with her. My little girl seems to be adapting very well to the divorce and i have no doubt that much of this was Rebecca's assistance with helping her cope with the emotional transition and to identify any areas that she might be having trouble with. I highly recommend Rebecca Kane to other families' that are seeking counseling services for their children.

Highly recommended. Professional and Caring

Rebecca has been instrumental in helping a teen resistant to any idea of counseling with great success. She has helped our family in so many ways. We are very thankful to her.
